B&K 415 Probes

Got one in good working order but without the probes and cables. I'm concerned about the output jacks to the scope. I guess I'll have to fabricate something because I expected them to be standard BNC. I've looked on the bay for them but no luck so far. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might find some or any suggestions on fabrication? Thanks,

Is this what you're looking for?

The only real probe is the demodulator probe. I had one demod probe before I had my 415 and I robbed the mike cable off it for something else....So when I got my 415 I just converted everything to BNC...It was surprisingly easy.

Or use these amphenol to BNC adapters. Hmm. Looks like you would need to cut down the center pin?

Those look like PL-259 which isn't compatible with the old microphone connectors used on the B&K 415.

Those mic connectors aren't hard to change to BNC. Just a hot lead solder joint and a nut for ground and mechanical mounting. I had some spare BNC connectos off of a junked SS monitor and they bolted right in.

Indeed! :thmbsp:
I have changed the connector on several vintage instruments that I use, panel-mount BNC connectors are readily available and inexpensive.

Aren't the mounting holes smaller?

IIRC they were both the same size (roughly the diameter of a standard potentiometer mounting hole IIRC). I remember literally unsoldering and unbolting mine then bolting in the BNC connectors (as is) and soldering the wire....It was surprisingly easy.

I had no problem mounting the BNC connectors on Heathkit equipment...no drilling, no shimming, they just bolted right in. Possibly other manufacturers equipment could be different :scratch2:

I ordered the female BNC connectors to convert them. Following Bobs series on alignment very closely!
