Knight Star Roamer INFO !
 

Pick up a Knight Star Roamer yesterday at a tag sale , seems to be working somewhat OK . On opening it up noticed that there are two connections loose .
Plus the 6BE6 and 6AK6 both tested weak almost bad on my tester . Can't find my sub book for tubes right now so they will have to wait till ......



I'd like to see if anyone can help me out and give me a clue as to were the two wire go . One is off a cap and I think it should go to chassis ( on closer inspection it looks like it should go to the switch above it ) the other one is the might be for the key (morse practice ?) .

Wanted to get some good input before just connecting anything up .



Also how good would a old whip antenna from a CB work with the unit ?

A random 25 to 100 ft. wire run outdoors will serve fine as a substitute for a CB antenna.

If your 6AK6 and 6BE6 tubes are defective, Electron Tube Enterprises (www.etetubes.com) is a good source for replacements.

I tried to download the manual , all I get is the schematic ...
Was able to figure out the connections last night . The tubes seem to be working fine for now .Thanks for the help ...

Fixed the problem with the manual download after even an e-mail would not open correctly .
Re-installed adobe and it worked !

Looks good! How's it working?

So far it's doing great , just a scratchy pot that might need to be replaced .
Seems to pull in stations on most of the bands , need a longer antenna to be sure .
Not much of a AM talk radio fan ........do like the international station though .
