Help with 1986 zenith costume series

2 Attachment(s)
I found this TV a couple of days ago and it all works except for one part. I need help in trying to find a new volume control for it because the on/off switch built in to the volume potentiometer is bad. I did go looking for one on eBay, Mouser Electronics, and other places too and I have had no luck in finding one that will work in it.the volume control is a 15k ohm with built in power switch. Other than that power switch the TV works great. Once it's fixed it's going in my bedroom if I can fined the right part for the TV.

The control will have a number on it 63-#####-## usually.
Thats the Zenith part number. These sets are super common
& you should be able to find it. Any non remote 13" or 19" will
probably have something close if about the same age.
For now just take off the 2 power wires & mount a toggle switch
on the back somewheres. That way it runs & you can take your
time finding one.

Rather than mount a switch on the set (which may require making holes) I'd just plug it into a switched power strip and use the strip to turn it on and off.

One possible option is to adapt another switched pot to work. 10K and 20K are common values. You could put a 1W fixed resistor in parallel with the outside terminals to get it close 15K. Or you could add a series 5K resistor to a 10K pot (would reduce the range of the control).
