Computer activated/programmable VHS player

Hello,

Back in the mid 1990's or so I owned a VHS player that could be connected to a Windows computer and I could write code to make the player go to a spot on the tape and play for a prescribed period of time. I think there were links I made for this. I was a professor and used this setup in the lecture room to show various video clips.
I can not for the life of me recall the Brand name and model of that VHS player.
Does anyone remember? It was used a lot in education. I think it was white in color.

Thank you!

A lot of professional grade VHS decks as well as Umatic , Betacam, Etc had IIRC RS-423 protocol for editing purposes.... Basically you could have a central editing controller for 2-3 decks. The editing deck controller used a computer compatible protocol so if one wanted they could make a PC control the deck through the interface.

I remember when I was in High School between 2003 and 2007, the high school I went to had a bunch of old Pioneer laserdisc players that they used to show pictures with pertaining to the class discussion topics (mostly it was in the science and social studies classes that they were used in) and some of the old laserdisc players could be controlled with computer software, using a serial port or a 15-pin videogame joystick type port (like the ports you often used to find on old sound cards back in the day.)

Those Laser Disc (L.D.) players that could be commanded by computers where called industrial players. Quite rare. I want one, but fining one in Romania...
I was in high school between 1997 and 2001. Should have been 1998 and 2002, but my parents separated when I was about 6 and I went to school before I turned 7 (about 3 month and a half).
