New here,...just joined this evening

Hello from Bluffton,IN. I go by Philco1968. I have yet to start a vintage TV collection,...space kind of prohibits that as I live in a small house. Anyway,...I still find vintage TV sets fascinating,..and radios as well. Brandwise,...I'm a Philco nut. There's just something about a Philco radio or TV that just grabs my attention. I had a "modern" Philco 19" set back in 1985 that I bought brand new,and had a great picture on it. I'd like to find an older vintage Philco set,though,...from late 1950's to late 1960's.

The late 50's to late 60's was when Philco was making most of their own products. In the early 60's is when they got themselves in financial trouble and Ford Motor Co. bought them out.
The Philco set you bought, was either a rebadged Sylvania or it's possibly one of the Philips designs and has a Sylvania sourced CRT, which had rather good color quality.
Welcome to the forum! A lot of sage wisdom here. :thmbsp:

I love my Philco "tombstone" radios. After 80+ years and gone through hell, this baby has gutz! Looking forward to my '36 116B. My '40 Zenith is still dead. I need to find me a good vacuum tube tech!

Hello! Welcome to the forum! :)

Newbie here as well. Whenever I’m taking a break from this particular interest, I’m usually found at home, feeding my Pomeranian his favorite dog treats and watching TV with my wife. Such a simple and noble life. Cheers, fellas!

Get OUT of this accursed hobby NOW, B4 you become too emotionally/financially involved. One old set leads to two, which leads to three, & next thing you know, they'll be staring back at you from EVERY flat spot in yr abode....(Grin) Seriously, Welcome to the MAGNIFICENT madness that is radio/TV collecting !
