2009 Vizio keeps shutting off

So this was my mom's tv, it keeps randomly shutting off every 10 to 20 minutes. Obviously I don't have a clue as to what may be wrong. So I gave her a 10 year old Samsung tv that was twice the size and told her that this Vizio is dead.

Any idea what may be wrong with this old Vizio? If it's not a simple issue then I'm bringing it to the E-waste scrapper.

Electrolytic capacitor(s) judging by the age of the set. Any idea how many hours on the set?

It was left on 24/7 for years on end.

I opened it up and blew out the dust, saw nothing obviously wrong like a swollen capacitor.

I gave up and will scrap it.

This is a typical power supply issue. I have an LG panel that did the same thing. The electrolytics in the PS have turned into resistors and they work until they heat up and stop being capacitors. It is an easy fix but not worth messing with.

That's my guess as well, depends on how much you want to try to revive it but if you can ID the power supply I would change all the electrolytics there, that seems to be a common issue with flat screens of about that age
