Video telephone 90 years ago today

Public demonstration of (one-way) video telephone occurred this date in 1927, when then Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover made the call from Washington DC to AT&T in New York, where it was viewed by AT&T executives.

Looks like about 50 scanning lines (assuming they were horizontal).
Does anyone know the actual count?

I remember seeing this in a History Channel documentary once. The First Lady was very concerned that the device was capable of reading minds....

Are the pics on the ETF museum website of something that the museum actually has? I don't remember ever seeing it there....

Sweet! It's always amazing to see how much could be accomplished with what limited technology that we had back in the day.

The original equipment is on display at a Bell Labs facility or somesuch, not the ETF.
