home made iconoscope

I am slowly approaching my dream: building an iconoscope. It won't be a high-resolution flash for now.
I estimate that the mosaic will consist of several tens of thousands of cells. The first attempts at the mosaic are already behind me. For now, you can see the silver mica cells and the cover of the iconoscope. The big unknown will be whether the mosaic sensitization will be successful. I plan to make a few photocells so as not to spoil a rather complicated lamp by some stupidity.
I will make the electron gun the same as for the monoscope I have already shown you.

Very interesting! Please keep us informed.

In order to at least partially allay the doubts, a test photocell with a mica photocathode was made, on which a continuous silver layer was deposited, and in the process of pumping the photocells additionally cesium was applied to the silver layer on the mica.
Attempts were made to oxidize this cesium with oxygen from the decomposition of barium peroxide placed in a special generator. Unfortunately, the obtained photocell sensitivity was not high - the 7.5W "warm" LED bulb at a distance of about 10 cm produced a photocurrent of about 2 microamps at a voltage of 30V on the photocell.
It seems that the photosensitive layer has the maximum sensitivity shifted towards the blue color of the light. It was not possible to control the oxidation of the layer and it can be assumed that the process was not optimal.
