worthington remote transmitter

1 Attachment(s)
In these days I've been really fortunate, because after a lot of time, I've found and bought a 14 functions remote control, that was used by the RCA in its CTC7 Worthington tv sets. I'm looking for this set by a lot of years, but in meanwhile, I'm happy to have got its remote control.
Do you know other tv sets that used the same remote control?

Congratulations. I’m not positive but I think it was exclusively for the Worthington. Edit: I believe all other RCA sets used a four function remote.

In terms of user friendliness, the Worthington was reasonable in having separate buttons for the color controls. Zenith's SC-600 remote used the channel up/down buttons as secondary-function tint controls when the sound was muted. This confused some owners to the point that after multiple home service calls, the serviceman would disconnect the tint functions to keep the owner from getting themselves stuck with the tint all the way at one end or the other.

Yes, me too. I never saw another tv set that use this remote control.
However I've the schematic diagrams of its ultrasonic receiver, and there are two slightly different models with this 14 function remote transmitter. If I remember right, maybe they used different tubes. Probably they were used in the same Worthington tv sets.
I know very well your site and your wonderful Worthington! My compliments!

Notice the television in the advertisement appears to be missing the pull out drawer for the remote on the left. This may explain the two versions.

Pretty cool that you have the remote before the set. Think positive... it will eventually show up...

Yes I noticed it. Another thing is the buttons On & Off on the tv set, that in your Worthington are black, while in other pictures are clear. Of more, your remote control seems to have all the buttons of the same type, but the mine has the volume buttons slightly higher than the other ones.

A little update: finally, today I have received the remote control.
The volume push buttons aren't higher than the other ones, but they were broken along the junction on the fulcrum. Luckily I have other two RCA remote controls of the same period but the 7 buttons type. One was very damaged, so I took one double button of this and now the 14 buttons remote is perfect again.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...675488e42a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...553a88a4e3.jpg

This remote control was really perfectly built. Here you can see its contacts and its transistor as oscillator.
