2" helical video tape, Amprex 148, what is it?

I recently acquired two brand new 2" helical video tapes on eBay.
They were advertised as quad but they aren't. The vr-660 and vr;1500
Both used a standard nab hub, as far as I know. These are not that. They
Are a strange hub I've never seen before. I have pictures but don't know how to upload them.

AFAIK there were only 2 helical 2" formats. An early Ampex one and the IVC 9000. The latter really belonged to theend of the 2" era and gave exceptionally good pictures. Neither was widely used.

This 2” Slant track vtr was a cross between a helical and transverse track recorder, Slightly smaller than an AVR1, the performance was better than High Band Quad but suffered from minor banding effects. One was purchased for BM in September ’74 and a further three a year later for MR (two) and BS.

The answer found!

In looking at the machined metal hubs on these 7 or 8" reels it seemed to me they must have been made to provide a very precision mounting of the reel to turntable regardless of angle, shock, etc. I seemed to remember at one time airlines used 2" helical video tape for inflight movies. A bit of searching along those lines revealed the answer. These are for the Sony PV-100 or PV-120.
I was mistaken about the type of tape. It is actually Scotch 360.
