Another "What is it" Question

My cousin's wife picked this up at an estate sale near Springfield, SC for $25.00. It looks clean and reasonably intact. Sorry about the quality of the photos. They've heeded my advice not to plug it in. All that they've done to it is brig it from one farmhouse to another (next time you eat Chicken McNuggets, think of my cousin and his wife...!) and a little bit pf Pledge with a soft cloth. Any idea of what year, new cost, and how widely these were distributed? Marion, my cousin, says they must be pretty common for Rita to have gotten it for $25.00... It's dusty, but otherwise looks clean and unmolested...

American Bosch is the brand. If you know the tube compliment and have Riders manuals (lots of scans of them on the nostalgia air site under resource by manufacturer) pre-1935 you can probably figure out the model based on the tube layouts listed for the brand.

Not a very common brand...I've only owned one and seen few enough to count on one hand...It looks like a console though and most consoles are a hard sell at any price.

Definitely late 20's-early 30's-I've seen pictures of later A-B sets but every one I've seen in person was around this age. The design around the dial is unique. I checked the books I have but none pictured this one but I did a little googling and came up with model 48 (looks there were a lot of variations). Here is one to check out:
