New Old Radio Day:
Picked this up the other day. It's in need of new grille cloth which I have ordered, and a trip to my antique radio guru for a thorough going over. I really like the style of this big console. Subdued, but elegant. Not in your face, but homey. Real nice wood. https://i.imgur.com/CknpFdt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Hl6Vp3P.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AJ5MfNE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/R0qYcSF.jpg |
Just like my chassis. I have it in the shop being refitted. It will be installed in a baby grand-style case.

I restored one for a family member. You'll like it!

This is supposed to be one of the best home receivers made. The reception capabilities are exceptional. This is the last year before the high fidelity radios were sold for only two years. They then disappeared, never to be seen again.

I've got one of the HiFi units. They are great radios.

I received my new grille cloth from Radio Daze yesterday. She goes to my radio wizard on Monday for about a week. When I get her back, she'll be all recapped, readjusted, and re whatever she needs.

I have a guy who has decades of experience working on old electric things, especially radios. He doesn't overcharge me, and his work is guaranteed for as long as he's alive. He's recognized as one of the best.
I can't solder very well, my eyesight isn't so great, and from many years of working with my hands, my fingers don't cooperate very well for fine detailed work. It's just not worth the frustration. |

I appreciate that. I fly fish and I have a heckuva time tying lines and flies. I take a bunch of pretied leaders, and flies, so it wont take me forever to do, out on the river. :)
It's all good. I get the radio back, like new, without any frustration. |
