Repost of a rare UK find in Canada

Something funny happend on the way to a television set!. I was on the way to a job site in Armstrong B.C. and to a antique shop that had a old admiral tv waiting for me. Falkland is a small town with a collectable boutique shop on the hyway for some reason i decided to stop and have a look and soon was ready to leave, uninspired by some unattractive tabletop radios. before making it to the door a bug eyed lady looking like Kathy Bates from the movie Missery stopped me and insisted that i buy a radio that was hidden in the office. I really was not intrested but she was persistant and yes it is a console with a lovely cabinet. My offer of $150.00 CAD. was excepted and i was on my way. Little did i know what i drove off with and was to be educated as i reserched this dynatron product.

Nice! I have a 1960s GE Console Record player stereo radio thing. The speakers from it are gone, so I'm thinking of just connecting some new ones. It uses those RCA Left-Right Connectors

My 1937 Zenith 8S154 (my fav radio), 1939 Zenith 9S367, 1930 Philco 70 "Baby Grand" mini console, and a rare 1937 Wilcox-Gay A-19. All work very nicely.

I have a Zenith 7S363, 11S474 (broken), Philco 37-665B, 116B-2 (in shop), and Zenith K731. Don't ask about my cassette decks!

Found this in fb market place last Saturday. Been looking for a Zenith x960 forever. Too bad this forum requires one to post their pics somewhere else....anyway everything works after some "fiddling". Caps replacement next after re-finish the walnut veneer, with oil. - Doug

Hi Doug, I'm not quite sure what your talking about WRT having to be posting pics somewhere else, here's a pic I'm posting right here, The Electronic Liquid that might as well be liquid gold (price some sometime) :D

Wow there's a lot of very nice consoles still around and what really stands out is the stewardship, all of you really have your heart in them.
At present I have a 1948 Philco (48-1264) "modern" FM band upright with the flip down 78 turntable, a mid 30's United Motors Delco R-1160 that followed me home and a 1970 Astro Sonic combo that is on the audiokarma sister site (https://audiokarma.org/forums/index....#post-14905102) that has been in the family since new. I have an opportunity to get a Zenith upright (463) but I'm out of room! It's a "working" upright that needs a full restoration but being complete and free to haul I'm making arrangements.

Keep up the great work and preserve the real American history.

Does the external loduspeakers of the "MagnaVox" AstroSonic camed with the console or they are bought separately?
@ Red Raster : that one of a kind console to have in a house (even in an apartament). But for what country it was made since it was made for 50 Cycles (Hertz), not 60? British made?
