Hello all and I got a question.

Hi gang the names Tim. I'm here to find out what year this TV was made and how to do the Wizardry of tuning it properly (picture). Nothing really worked when I found it I got it everything working except for the right speaker and the turntable still haven't had time to look at them yet.

So my question is what thread subject should I start posting in?

If solid state, post a new thread in Solid State CRT Televisions. And welcome!

Thanks for the for the info. After doing a little research (new to the vintage TV repair) I have located vacuum tubes inside of the tv and on the back of the CRT "boobtube". So I'm guessing it's not a Solid State CRT. Just don't want to gunk up the forums posting in the wrong areas.

Rectangular screen tube TVs should work. There are no analog TV stations anymore so you will need a DTV converter box to receive watchable images on it. If the CRt lights then the converter may be all it needs (try it and post screen shots), but if the screen does not light then odds are the capacitors have gone bad from age and will need to be replaced...We do that work a lot and can walk you through it.

Thanks for the help folks! I will start over in the Rectangular screen tube TVs.

So far I was able to:

1. Get an okay picture watching drh4683's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8eK...ndex=2&t=1066s

2. Track down a couple UHF/VHF matching transformers to get my Nintendo Entertainment System working on it (Duck hunt gun is what has started this whole journey I'm going down)

P.S. Don't really watch TV stations but was looking at one of these https://www.amazon.com/Composite-Con...verter+Adapter to setup with a raspberrypi 3/surround sound running plex for all of my media needs.
