Keeping Up Appearances

Does anyone know what kind of TV Onslow has in Keeping Up Appearances that he smacks to turn on? I always found that funny, and also they hit the side to change the channel. It looks like in one episode it says "Fidelity" on it.

I also remember in one episode some men were loading TV boxes in a van that said Ferguson or something on them, and there were VCRs too I think.

Being a Brit-com, it's hard to say...but it was one of the funniest shows on the toob! It's BOO-quet!!!

Sorry that I can't answer the question but I too love that series. I recently bought the entire series called "The Full Bouquet". The out takes are funny. You can see them on Youtube. But full seasons are hit or miss on Youtube.

The set is badged "Fidelity"! Fidelity is or was a British electronics firm. If they're still in business, there should a bit of tape over the badging, so viewers don't get a bad impression of the product.
The series goes back to the mid-to-late 1990's.

I think the brand name is Ferguson which is a real British TV brand that made some great color sets in the Seventies. Now I believe it is just a label used in badge engineered sets from China.

I like Daisy referring to Onslow, as being "Bone Idle".
Now I'm using that term on some people. :D

I hope some of our fellow collectors across the pond see this. Then we'll get the real story.
I always liked how everyone piled into Onslow's car and how it always backfired after he showed up.

My favorite Brit comedy was 'Are You Being Served'. All time best clip was Mrs. Slocombe:lmao: doing Mae West imitations.

Onslow's Car was a Ford Cortina. Much different then the ones they sold here.

Also love "As Time Goes By" with Dame Judi Dench.

"Keeping Up Appearances" and "Are You Being Served?" are two of my most favorite Brit-coms! I also like "The Vicar of Dibley" and "Mulberry Days."
