Pilot tv and 3ep1 crt

I'm wondering if I'm correct in thinking that in order to use a 3ep1 crt in a pilot tv I would have to make an adapter to reorganize the wires to the crt and have a separate 6.3 transformer for the heater and then rectify that heater circuit because the cathode is tied into the heater of this 3ep1. :scratch2:

No need to rectify the output of your heater transformer, as the cathode is indirectly heated.

I thought I had asked somewhere in a post here the same thing only it was a 3gp1 with the cathode in with the heater. I think I also had rewired it and tried it but got bearly a pic it was all distorted , so I think that's why I asked befor and was told to do the DC on the heater. I don't know:sigh:
