Anyone recognize this Muntz set?
Hi all, i spied this on Nashville Craigslist, I responded but no reply, guess it is gone. but i can't figure out what model it is, Any ideas?

Looks like about a '58 model. Ninety degree tube.
I believe it was a series string set. Only saw one in my life when the boss replaced 6 tubes, put a booster on pix tube, and, replaced a couple of leaky caps, Ah.. Memories........ |
Rare to see a US made set with the edges of the faceplate panel showing. Did Muntz make sets for export? That style was common in Europe.
CRT is a 23 inch with squared corners, so the set is no older than 1960 or 1961. Possibly a 110 or 114 degree jug. jr |
Well, I didn't know it was sold over seas.
This was an American set, with all American parts. I think it only had 13 tubes in it. Reminds me of the Bendix TV's. |

Muntz didn't export. How? Their sets only worked in the strongest signal conditions, near TV transmitter sites. Nowhere else. As Muntz sets used the least components that showed a picture. Cheap as could be made.
