Looks like about a '58 model. Ninety degree tube.
I believe it was a series string set. Only saw one in my life when the boss replaced 6 tubes, put a booster on pix tube, and, replaced a couple of leaky caps,
Ah.. Memories........

Rare to see a US made set with the edges of the faceplate panel showing. Did Muntz make sets for export? That style was common in Europe.

CRT is a 23 inch with squared corners, so the set is no older than 1960 or 1961. Possibly a 110 or 114 degree jug.

Well, I didn't know it was sold over seas.
This was an American set, with all American parts. I think it only had 13 tubes in it. Reminds me of the Bendix TV's.

I didn't assert that this was sold overseas, but merely questioning the possibility that Muntz might have been exploring the possibility of exporting "European style" sets... does anybody know if they did export sets?

Muntz didn't export. How? Their sets only worked in the strongest signal conditions, near TV transmitter sites. Nowhere else. As Muntz sets used the least components that showed a picture. Cheap as could be made.

I think he was remarking on how the set looked like a European model with the glass visible on the sides of the crt. It makes you wonder on how a American company might have come to the same design style as later euro companies.
