AMI ROwe MM-4 jukebox..ANYONE help me?

I have been tasked with fixing an old AMI Rowe jukebox. This one has a NICE P-P amp with 7868 outs..and I WILL likely be re-capping that amp soon....but for NOW..it DOES work ok. BUT...what does NOT work ok..is the selection mechanism.

I have determined that there is a solenoid-operated "rotary switch" that is used to "count credits". Now...I AM able to trip the coin switches and get the switch to go BACKWARDS...I guess to the 'reset" position. but it will NOT seem to advance FORWARDS. Now--if I do this MANUALLY...a few positions..then the selection solenoid locks in and the buttons will THEN lock when you push them down. When a selection is then pushed..ANOTHER rotary switch begins to SPIN..down by the record mechanism.and KEEPS doing this. Also..a set of contacts on a relay behind the selector buttons get SMOKING HOT..as if something is DEAD shorted there. I found out that IF I push down on an arm of a solenoid behind the rotary switch..it WILL stop spinning, find my selections AND play them. It is then I know the amp is working pretty well...and with decent volume and tone.

ANYONE ever see something like this..and does ANYONE have access to a diagram of the schematic of this jukebox and NOT just the amp--but the selector mechanism and such? I KNOW...that short ckt. is the heart of my problem..if I can JUST figure out what it leads to..

I found a pinched wire from the advance solenoid on the credit switch..the wire was trapped between a mounting post . I THOUGHT this was causing that short...but it was NOT. the coil on this solenoid does NOT appear to be shorted either...but SOMETHING blew the .6a SB fuse on that switch. No transient diodes seem to show shorted either..except MAYBE ONE..near that relay on the selection panel that is getting hot...the diode reads 26 ohms BOTH ways..but I suspect this is a coil on it...right ?

Victory Glass should have the manuals for this machine. See if there is an amusement company in your area, if there is, call and see if they know where service literature can be had.
