Red Channel Master 6506 transistor radio

I picked this up at an annual roadside yard sale / flea market. They wanted $6 for it; but, I bought a $75 brass bladed fan and they threw in the radio.

It somewhat works; but, could use some new caps. It makes a lot of static when first turned on, then one or two stronger stations come in and it sometimes howles and whistles.

I've heard that these Sanyo built Channel Master's were good performers.

I have a 6515a superfringe and a 6514 am/marine. I'll make a post about the two of them but I noticed that the jacks always cause problems. A good cleaning of those might help. They seem to oxidize/corrode. Any one have tips on these?
