Help ID a TV from around 1957
Guys,
Here is a picture of a TV set we had cropped from a picture labeld 1957 Christmas. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks. http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psg9dfb93k.jpg |
Looks like a Muntz.
|
Yep! something like this ( but likely a 21inch model ) :

I should say that this TV was a table top and not a console.

The name on the pencil box looks to short to be Muntz, looks like RCA to me.

I'm thinking it might be an Arvin model 8179-TM.
http://www.tvhistory.tv/1953Advertising.htm It has the same mask but the knobs are slightly different. http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...psbbod6ghs.jpg |

Very likely close, but knob/crt width ratio says 21" to me... note that the Arvin next to it (8171) in the brochure seems to have knobs that better match your set. jr |

I found it! It's in Louisville Ky. I'm dealing with the buyer as to payment and when I can pick it up. Almost 3 years now looking. Guys never give up!
