San Francisco Vacation

I'm going to be going on a trip to San Francisco this June and was wondering if there are any antique television related sites that people might recommend seeing. As luck would have it I'll be staying in Telegraph Hill a 20 minute walk to the spot of Philo Farnsworth's laboratory. From what I can figure out it's not a museum or anything, but it will be cool to see it non the less. Does any one have any other suggestions for site seeing?

Well, you will be a few months late for the antique TV exhibit at San Francisco Airport itself; the exhibit just ended a six-month run this past weekend.

I do not know of any specific early-TV-related sites or exhibits in this area.

I was so excited when I read about this exhibit a few months ago and then so sad when I found out that it was coming down before I got there.

You have to go to Alcatraz, hopefully they still have the tour with the Walkman.
It's Stereo and with the earbuds you get all the sounds of the Prison in 3D.

The Castro Theater is usually a fun spot, they often show vintage movies there to a very enthusiastic audience.

Alcatraz is definitely on the list! Thanks for the suggestion of the Castro Theater, I'll check that out also.

I second alcatraz - just an awesome tour with the mp3 players. But buy tickets ahead of time, when I was there you had to buy tickets a week in advance.
