My new Airband-Weather Radio

I live within spitting distance of an airport. They expanded and updated it this past year, so traffic has really picked up.
I just picked up this little Airband and Weather Scanner and am really enjoying hearing all of the (albeit short and sweet) jabber.
The case is rubberized and it has a substantial feel to it. Audio is clear and loud and sounds much bigger than its size belies.

Just for laffs...I took the pic of these contrails last week.
Excuse the shakiness, its hard to take a pic at night without shaking the camera a little bit.

During the past week, the evening lows have been in the upper 40's to lower 50's.
Rain is moving in for several days and once that passes, they are saying lows in the lower 20's. :(

The Unicom freq at Surgoinsville/Hawkins County International Airport here is 122.8....I call it "International", 'cause a time or 2, people from Canada landed there, mostly by mistake...We didn't have runway lites or nothin' for a long time, you landed at night by lining up w/the Coke machine right outside the door of the office/lounge...

Kirk Airfield is also @ 122.800MHz. The planes can trigger the runway lights on. They look cool with all of their colours.

I had Sweep Out The Hangar Duty a bit when I was a kid...The floor was real smooth & slick, wasn't too hard to move the planes around, but out on the pavement could get tough..But I was a big kid & pretty strong...Some of the taildraggers had handles down near the tailwheels where you could pick 'em up & move 'em around easier.

I have a little 440 handheld I picked up a RadioShack about 10 years ago, and it looks exactly like your new radio. I"'m pretty sure it was made by Maycom, the name on your radio. It has a nice feel...fits just right in the palm of my hand

It's my understanding that there are at least three different *brands* of the same radio on the market.
