My new Westinghouse radio

I got this from a estate sale from the house its was sitting in since new. A bonus with this radio is that the last owner kept it repaired and still works great but with a little hum. On the bottom is a date of 12-5-1946.

Very interesting how many postwar models still used wood. I never saw a Westy like that and they were made upstate here. What tubes does it use?

The radio looks like a pre-war model. Their pre-war models were made by several manufacturers. This one looks, like it could be an RCA built set.
If the original poster would include a model number, it could be looked up in Riders.
Once, Westinghouse was broke up with GE and RCA, they seemed to contract with other firms to build their products. :scratch2:

Perhaps the availability of petroleum and coal were too limited to justify using plastic? Steel was in short supply too.
