Gerstenslager is an Ohio company, and that is one. Unique headlight/turn signal arrangement confirms. Lots of Googleable images and links.
They were big manufacturers of bookmobiles -- mobile libraries of books. See, books are these things that are like blogs or websites, except you don't need a computer or internet connection to look at them. They're always booted up, no batteries, and you can see 'em fine in direct sunlight. Hopefully they'll catch on. But seriously, a land barge full of books is quite heavy. Specialty vehicle manufacturers noticed, and they served as chassis for mobile TV production and mobile audio recording studios as well. I've seen one of each in use on various jobs I've been on. Now that digital has taken over, you can do the same thing with a laptop, running on batteries. Chip |
A box truck made by a company - in Ohio - with a German name, that's actually being driven around in Europe. How about that?
If you want to know the actual chassis manufacturer, good luck. |
