IIRC there is a black & a yellow pot near each other. One is
V size the other 90 volt adjust. I THINK the black one is vert
size.
For buzz be sure the tuner is in the right mode ( air & normal AFC ).
If its a light buzz you can try the audio detector coil but be sure you
can go back to the start if it dont help.
BTW I bought one of these new & ran it a few years. They gave an
excellent pix. If your control door isnt broken off its a miracle. They
all did & as careful as I was mine broke.
I am going down Maine friday. When I get back I will see if I got anything on the set.

Amazingly, the control door isn't broken, and all the buttons all work. It's the first time I've seen a Zenith that had working buttons on the door! It does have a very good picture for being 34 years old. The auto CRT bias really works to keep proper gray scale from the moment the CRT warms up.

All it needed was the 10uF 315v cap that often fails. Strangely, the left side was only slightly darker than the right, and the gray scale didn't look that bad, but it really messed up the color decoding. Flesh tones were either green or blue. In the middle, everyone just looked pale even though other colors were strong.

It's just a slight buzz on bright highlights. I can remember adjusting the detector coil on similar sets, I just don't want to go in randomly tweaking things! Either that, or the AGC should fix the buzz.

I used to have a stereo model with the controls on top and a speaker on each side of the screen. I pulled it out of the trash and used it. It always had a bad power control circuit...Only way to power it up was to slap it on the top. Last move about 10 years ago I returned it to the place I found it because I had too much stuff...

Zenith 25"

I have the 25" version of that TV. Can't find good service information. I don't know how to properly set the 3 Screen controls cause there's no service switch. Sometimes it takes a two or three seconds before the power supply starts and the high voltage pops on. Also Photofact has nothing about convergence. Is there a place to get good service information to get this right again. It was handed down from my Grand Father.

If it has a 9-160 main board it HAS cold joints on it.
They all did over time, thats 99% your start problem.
If it uses 9-214 main board there is no grey scale, its automatic.
On 9-181 main & 9-155 CRT socket sets grey scale you can
1) turn all three colors down.
2) one color will be dominant, raise the other two to make B&W.
Convergence cant be described & I never understood it to be honest.
The rear magnet is purity, the others center conv. Mark them &
play with them. Some had a locking ring in front. Some used
twist knobs & others tabs. Side conv is by bending & wedging the yoke.
Early EFL sets used a yoke ring with adjustments.
