woohoo tube tester but how do I use it?

I just got a model 257 tube tester made by Accurate instrament co but I don't have a book on how to use it btw was $15 a fair price?

It may be a no-go on that tester if you don't have the book...you need that to tell what the settings are on the controls for each particular tube...I have not heard of Accurate Instrument co. myself.
You may need to just go for another tester making sure it has the literature with it, otherwise you will only get possibly false test results or risk burning out tubes due to wrong filament voltage. Some testers have the settings on a scroll mounted inside the tester and others have a little booklet you have to consult.

$15? Sounds good to me. It is useless without the book, but I'll bet it wont be that hard to find. That big plug hanging out on the wire looks like it can do roundie color tv sets. score! :thmbsp:

Here is a ham radio operator who has one on her website. Maybe you could get her to photocopy the manual or something.
