I could have sworn I did this. I drive a 94 Chevrolet Caprice, ex police car 9c1 model. Equipped with a 383 stroker that me and a friend built.

Hey Brandon, I used to own a 96 Impala SS (basically, a 9c1 as well) also in the same color as yours - Black Cherry. I put a lot of comfortable miles on that car!

Thanks! I bought this car in 2014 when I was still in high school, for $500, in a non working condition. I got the original motor running, and drove it for 4-5 years before swapping the motor. I love this car. I bought it with 134,000 miles. It now has over 200,000 miles. Still starts every time. :)

This summer, had a little more variety and been doing the cruise in circuit...

ONE OF THESE DAYS, I NEED to get a digicam, figger out how to work the damthing, & bestow upon you guys the pics of my '67 Lincoln Pervertable... Wish the top still worked.. THAT was almost as impressive as having a gaggle of working CT-100s. Thing has 3 hydraulic pumps, 15 little motors, 25 relays. It pretty much took itself apart, & then put itself back together for the top to go up & down. The rear doors, when you opened them up, there was an interference fit w/the top- the rear glass slid down about 6" & then rose back up. In 1983, the guy who worked on it for me told me that to build a car to the Lincoln's specs would l,ikely cost close to $40K then.

The grandmother of a girl from my old building... ages ago now... had a 1979 Delta 88, light green inside and out. I was in it once for a trip to a public pool. Also, someone in that building had a red '83 Delta 88 with a brown vinyl covered roof. Both were 4-door. Come to think of it, someone else had a dark blue 2-door 98 at one time, one of at least three cars he had while he lived there. I don't know the year of that one but it was a full-size RWD model.

Attachment 192368Since high-test is $2.50 again , the 1969 Grand Prix with its 455 4 barrel Q-jet has logged more than the usual 500 miles this year. Getting the AM-FM Delco out of this beast with its wrap-around console is a magic trick. It needs a re-cap of the caps I didn't do that last time.

I presently drive a 1999 Ford Taurus SE Wagon, with a 3.0 24 valve Duratec engine. My 53rd birthday gift from Mom, along with our present feline, Baby. Our other vehicle is a 2002 Saturn L 200 Sedan, which Mom mainly drives. The Saturn has a 2.2 Ecotec 4 cylinder engine.

In 1957 I bought a ’54 Healey 100 for $1600 and immediately replaced its engine/trany with the Olds engine/trany from the Plymouth. It was probably the world’s first big block Healey 100, 10 years before the Shelby 427ci Cobra!

In 1957 I also bought a ’56 265ci V8 Chevy 2 door hard top to replace the Olds Plymouth, since my 19 year old girlfriend Barbara didn’t like it. I pulled its 265ci /w power-glide, and replaced it with a 327ci/w turbo-hydro 3 speed. Big improvement, still got it.

In 1964 I installed a ’59 418ci Olds in the Healey, with modest body alterations, to resemble the 427ci Shelby Cobra. I then drove the “OldsHealey” to work until I retired it in about 1967. I parked it along side the garage in a covered lean-to.

In 1970 I bought a 400ci GTO off the dealer's showroom floor for $4500. It was to replace the '56 327ci Chevy/Turbo my 26 year old wife Judy was driving to work. I started to drive it to work instead of driving the '54 OldsHealey.

In 1980 Judy got a new BMW 320i Sports Coupe for $4500 to replace the GTO which had over 250k on it. I now use it as my local town-jalopy. In 2014 we got Judy a show quality ’86 BMW 635ci to replace her BMW 320i but was afraid to drive it in town. She got a 2004 Infinity SUV, drove it for 11 years and hated it. She now has a leased 2018 BMW X3 SUV. Got a $2000 allowance and left it in the BMW dealer’s parking lot!

We still have all six cars operational, ranch-housed in a detached dual 2 car garage plus a lean-to for my smaller Olds Healey and BMW 320i. In addition, we have a John Deer tractor, a Kawasaki all-terrain Mule and a gas powered golf cart all under the garage roof over hang. On occasion I will take the OldsHealey out on a deserted county road and run a timed 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds best……..There!

So since nobody builds cars anymore I picked up a Silverado pick up
with the small V8 (apx 320 cid ). I must say this is the nicest riding vehicle
I have had since the 60's & 70's full sized cars. As quiet & smooth as my
'76 Caddy. You really feel like you are driving something. Now I just
have to learn what all them damn buttons do. That will take several
years as I keep finding more ! I also have to learn hieroglyphics :tears:

I've been wanting a 67-68 or a 71 up convertible too. The last year or too of the first gen FWD ones lack the cool hidden headlights, and the second gen FWD only looks good as a convertible. (The first gen never was offered as a convertible).

There's a first gen up north that aside from needing a repaint and a new vinyl top is good enough to Temp me to buy it... Winter is helping me stay disciplined though.

There's something special about the styling of the first FWD Eldorados that is timeless and classic....they could probably build that same car today (with tweaks to conform to current gubbamint standards) and it would look like a current car.... It'd probably be a super car with what they can get out of that if they fuel injected it.


I also like the first gen Toronados... just like the eldorado they made it ugly just before giving it a new body.
