Howdy Folks

Hello out there!

My name is James, I'm 23, and currently finishing up my bachelors in Chemistry. I have had a passion for electronics since an early age. I've worked on tube equipment for years, but really only know enough of the theory to make me dangerous. I repair ole tabletop tube radios as a hobby, but I haven't ever fully restored anything. I am a member of your sister site, Audiokarma and have recently come into the vintage TV market. I've had my eye on owning a philco predicta for a long while, but sort of had my current project just fall in my lap. I look forward to scouring the boards for good insight, and posting in this great community.

Any questions?

Welcome!

If you can get a tube radio working then you can learn to fix tube TVs.

A Predicta is a bad set to do as a first project.
I would reccomend starting with a early 50's Philco split chassis or a late 40's early 50's admiral.

Well I might have been unclear, because I didn't want to start talking about my project. My project is a 1959 Montgomery Ward Airline WG-5061A. Look for an upcoming post!

Welcome! I suspect that Airline won't be too bad to work on. Looking forward to reading more!
