1987 Electrohome model 48CC13

Set is long gone. Merely dusting it out caused vertical failure.

Was that set made by Mitsubishi?

Yup, they took over making Electrohome sets in 1984.

Yessah nice MGA made set with the bluish CRT. In later years
MGA's became more popular but IMHO the ones from
the early 80's were there best. Newer ones just a decent set.......
They never gave us grief at he bench, came out lookin good
& never came back. What else could one ask for ?

I don't think I've ever seen a weak Mitsubishi CRT. The main ones I hated, and eventually stopped taking in, were the late '80's-early '90's sets with the bad electrolytic capacitors that liked to leak juice all over the board and eat up the PC board traces.

I don't remember if it was MGA or MCA, but one professor I took last year had bought a hybrid set new form one of those brands and put an obscene number of hours on it (like leaving it on all night every day 365) for decades, and a year or two before telling me of it gave it away, still working fine, to a neighbor. There is a part of me that really wants one after hearing that. You wouldn't by chance be familiar with any hybrid chassis under one of those brands would you?

I hope this one isn't recent enough to do that.

Another thing I like about this set is the LED channel readout and the full RAT keypad on the set. Using the up and down buttons just starts it scanning anyway. I never cared for OSD with the exception of the Magnavox Star.

I'd like to have some older MGA remote sets for sure. Of course I have a couple of MGA ultrasonic remotes, a three-button and a six-button.

Dont recall a hybrid MGA & dont remember a MCA brand.
Out of the Jap hybrids JVC, Panasonics & Toshibas seemed to be
the best, the others just didnt make the cut.
