The VERY ELUSIVE 1969 Zenith Chromacolor TV

Here is an actual, very rare 1969-70 magazine advertisement for this very, very rare, yet to be found in existence 1969-70 Zenith Chromacolor TV. The very first TV produced with the black matrix picture tube-a delta-gun style tube.

70 and 71 models are not that hard to find...I have had a few early CC sets come through my hands.

I don't suppose you could zoom in on the set only to see what one looks like?
nevermind i found a better pic from a old epay listing.

What is the chassis number for this set? Shango066 has a video of a 25cc50 set that looks very similar to this one.

Were these Bad Bois 100% soiled state, or did they still have 3 or 4 Tooobs in 'em ?

Set shown is either a A4533W non SC or AA6533W if SC.
The E-bay ad is a A4533W. They are 23" 1970 models that would
have been released normally Sept of 1969.
Chassis was hybrid, about 1/2 tubes. Included the first duramodule
for color demod.

1971 "B line" added 25" also 19" with the new 4 tube hybrid chassis.

1972 "C- line" had the first solid state chassis.

The only 1970 MY sets that seemed to have the CC CRT were the models that had the TOTL 12A12C52 chassis. I have a 14A9C50, which is a lower priced set, that is not CC.

Makes sense. The 14A12 has 2 more tubes. does yours use a tube for
demod or the round plug in IC ? Hard to keep track of these things after so many years.

IIRC, it has the round plug-in IC, but it's probably the later issue IC, instead of the button type that was very trouble prone. :scratch2:
