8 inch electrostatics

Trying to answer a historic curiosity I have, how many manufacturers besides Motorola manufactured sets using the 8BP4 electrostatic CRT?

We see many Motorola sets that use the 8BP4 but I know of at least one other manufacturer that sold a set that used the 8BP4.

Arvin 4080T has a 8AP4 CRT but it is not electrostatic deflection.

The Sears, Silvertone model 9116 used the 8", 8BP4 electrostatic picture tube.

The 8 inch Arvin is a one of a kind and a great performing set rock solid.

Yes and no...But mostly NO. The Motorola TS-4 family of 7" electrostatic sets (VT-71, VT-73, etc) used the 7PJ4. The Motorola TS-18 family of 8" electrostatic sets (9VT1 and it's bakelite counter part used the 8BP4....I have examples of both sets so I can tell you that besides the cabinets and CRTs the tuner was also different...The TS-18 had a full 12 channel VHF tuner in contrast to the 7-ish channels the TS-4 had by making 2 channels share a detent and aligning the tuner to only get the one that was on air where the set was sold.
