1981 AMC Concord 4 speed wagon
1 Attachment(s)
Bought another older car, this time a 1981 AMC Concord wagon with 258 straight six and 4 speed. It has power steering and manual brakes, and aftermarket wiper delay and a MICO electric brake lock, that allows locking the front brakes.

And I thought these were extinct.

The the Concord wagon is essentially an Eagle, minus the 4WD and a few trim options. |
The only thing I liked was the 232 inline six, much better than the plastic pan 258

Shortly after mips got his I saw one in Superior/Duluth on vacation and have spotted one of twor since. Not common cars these days but not extinct either.
To keep a car out of obscurity it's important that someone in each locality keep one road worthy and either daily it, or at least drive it a couple times a week to help keep it in the public conscious. |
+1 about the car running/visibility.
Also, if one maintain the car stopped/parked for too much time, some mechanical parts starts to fail. |
Having three cars in HS driver's ed, two were 78 Dodge Aspen and one was an 80 Concord. Damn glad I learned driving the AMC:yes: not those truly awful examples of Chrysler's V (valiant) and L (dart) carlines.:sigh:
The AMC Concord was a far better car than comparable models from MoPar, GM and Ford that were offered then! |
