Tek 321a up n running

5 Attachment(s)
Well, this did not take a lot of effort... one diode, and a set of batteries. I thought that I would post a few Pix of the 'scope.
The 321a was the second transistorized oscilloscope offered by Tektronix. Dating from 1964, it replaced the previous 321 model which was released in 1960*. The 321a is a moderate upgrade from the 321, featuring 6mHz vertical bandwidth vs 5mHz of the earlier model. It employs 35 transistors, and one tube (7586) used for vertical input, as well as the CRT. HV supply for the CRT is solid state (only 4KV).
Pix 1 outdoor cordless operation.
Pix 2 & 3, lovely hand-wired circuits on ceramic terminal strips.
Pix 4 Rear view.
Pix 5 Batteries weren't included.

*perhaps the first ever production transistor high performance oscilloscope ?

A very nice piece. Great photos too. Tek was a leader then as is now.

Sadly, my 1990s Tek w/ LCD display does not have a battery option.
Had to cut off the ground pin on the AC plug to make it 'safe' for
hot chassis measurements.
