Samsung HLN437W DLP set: No sound

I'm having some trouble with this 2003 DLP rear projector set. The lamp was acting up, but I believe it's doing better now, had it up and running for over two hours today without issue. However, the set produces no sound on any input at any volume setting, except for a constant, faint clicking, about five times a second. The picture is fantastic; just gotta figure out the sound issue! This set does not have any audio output.

make sure the internal speakers are not turned off in the menu

Any repetitious popping, clicking, etc makes me think bad capacitors...

Samsung has had a lot of Capacitor issues, as did a lot of manufacturers back in 2003.
I would look for any with bulging tops. I have a 2007 Samsung that had bad caps in it.

That was the very first thing I looked for. Because there isn't an audio output, there also isn't a speaker on/off setting. I'll check for bad caps next. Is it safe to assume my sound problem would NOT be related to any issues with the lamp or ballast?

Hunted around for bad caps today. After scouring the entire set (except for the light engine), I only found one questionable cap, the largest one in the set. It's a 450 volt, 470 microfarad capacitor in the power supply, and its top is bulbed out like a pillow! (Plastic top) I'm replacing this ASAP anyway, but I doubt it will solve my sound problem, unless you guys think otherwise. :scratch2:

Replaced the entire analog board this week. Sound is back, hooray! Now, I just have to wait for the original remote contol to arrive in the mail. :3

Thanks! I'm rather proud of myself for fixing all of the myriad issues with this one. :)

Another (rather peculiar) issue has cropped up with this set. Every once in a great while (only happened twice so far) the screen will go straight black and white (no grayscale, full stop two-tone black and white!) and lock. Sound and functions still work, but you can't see the menu or anything other than the frozen B&W image. The only way to reset the TV is to power it off and back on again. The image remains on the screen until the color wheel shuts off upon power-down. Very odd. :scratch2:

EDIT: It just did it again. Snapped a crappy photo of the screen with my phone:
