CBS Saturday morning was the gold standard & In the News was a can't miss for me. I also tuned in to the opening of Wide World of Sports but then changed the channel. There were a bunch of shows where I would only watch the opening...Dallas, The Fall Guy, Hill Street Blues...I didn't care for dramas back then but liked the openings!
