If you know how long the original was you can find one the same length (or cut a longer one down to match).
If you have the part that broke off you could super glue it back on, but if a core is brittle enough to crack I try to replace with a newer less brittle one...Life sucks when it cracks down the length of the slug when it's in the coil and if it that happens because you ignored the warning signs you will want to kick your self (ask me how I know).
