It may not be common to record off air anymore but it's completely doable. I think I have even done so within the last year when the memory on my HD recorder was full. Planning to dub a Betamax LV-1900 commercial off the internet to Betamax tape to play on my LV-1900 soon...I can do it, I have the technology!
