I have a Panasonic PV-4022 mono VHS VCR. Still works like new after 11 years, although I don't use it for recording anymore, just for playing the old VHS tapes in my collection. The automatic clock set function does not work any longer since the DTV transition. This feature used a special XDS (extended data signal) to set the clock; the signal was transmitted (in the vertical blanking interval, if I remember correctly) by PBS television stations, but when DTV came along that signal disappeared.
Oh well, since I don't use the deck anymore for recording that doesn't matter.
