I think you have the matching player that was sold with that first hand-size camcorder. I remember the TV commercials for those-the Handycam was hidden under a baseball cap. That setup is definitely worth saving, even if you cannot get everything working quickly. In its day, it was shocking to be able to record color video on such an extremely small device. (Never mind that we now record 1080p HD video with our cell phones!)
