Doing repair work on guitar amps, I see shoddy construction on the newer ones all of the time.
A few years ago, a fella called me saying that he had special ordered a Fender Bassman 4x10 amp from a dealer in Memphis.
Foolishly, he didn't try it out. He went over there, paid for it and brought it home and it was DOA. Zippo...nada...
He called me and I said "Sure, I'll look at it, but if I were you I'd head back over there and shove it up their asses."
Anyway, he brought it to me and what I found was a chassis with a half-dozen "quality control" stickers and signatures all over it....and....a choke hanging off the chassis by one loose screw and a rectifier tube socket that had nothing attached to it.
So much for Fender's quality control.
