We're only dealing with 120 volts here. If I get between line potential and the equipment, the GFCI will trip.
I'm more concerned about damaging the item I'm working on, than a little tickle.

That's a thought... I wonder if it would reduce noise too, if I even turn my soldering station on I get ripple, and I've had to chase noise down on more than a few occasions
