Tip on getting a very clean cut on wood or fiber board with a jigsaw: get a tile cutting blade. They are basically a diamond powder sand glued to a smooth metal. They cut wood very clean but limit the jigsaw turning radius and cutting speed a bit... They also cost a good bit, but when you have a tiling home improvement project that justifies the purchase.
