Kinda what I thought. I picked up an EICO 1064s and powered it up after all the caps were replaced. Good news is that she plays and has decent reception but the amplification is low. The speaker is a small replacement that was in the case when I got it so I need to figure out what the correct speaker would be. Also, the IF4 tests borderline on my Nat'l Lab tester. The radio originally used a high impedance magnetic speaker. Trying to run a low impedance PM speaker without an output transformer would be too low of a resistance plate load on the output tube.
You'd have to consult a tube manual to see what the plate load is needed for that particular tube.
