High school ('58-62) had one large black and white TV that was used only occasionally in the classroom. The teacher in charge of audio/visual equipment and us geeks who ran the projectors would "discover" that the TV had been sitting all summer in the Chicago humidity, and of course had to be baked out when the World Series happened to be on. So, we got to watch the game during off periods and became the town criers when teachers would stop us in the hall and ask what the score was.
