It'll be an EMP that destroys all semiconductor devices and only good ol vacuum tube electronics will work , so yea , toss anything named "Midland" and find some old tube stuff if you want communication after "the big one" .
And no , not in the least a "prepper" , but I know a couple of people who are . I'm more of a realist , when the proverbial poop hits the rotary impeller there won't be any of us left to worry about CB radios anyway
