Did you check each diode both forward and reverse? If using a digital ohmmeter, you should disconnect one end of each diode for a reliable test.
As a side note, an analog meter can test each diode for short/no short without disconnecting anything. Gawd, I would never think of being without at least a cheap analog meter
with an RX1 scale for situations such as this.
