I just can't figure out whats wrong with vertical, it's super twitchy and unstable, also there is these two weird black transistors in vertical section which get really hot.
You can kind of see them on the board there, they are labeled CDC 9000 1C and CDC 6000 1C. There is no data on the web about them, maybe some of you have experience with them?
