According to RCA PMT Handbook...
the 931 tube is the most commercially successful PMT tube. So there should be lots of them out there.
The following tubes appear to be electrically and physically identical:
1P21, 1P28 (A & B), 931 (A & B), 4832, 4837, 4840, 4552.
The only differences are photocathode material (affecting sensitivity) and glass envelope material.
