I have a guy who has decades of experience working on old electric things, especially radios. He doesn't overcharge me, and his work is guaranteed for as long as he's alive. He's recognized as one of the best.
I can't solder very well, my eyesight isn't so great, and from many years of working with my hands, my fingers don't cooperate very well for fine detailed work.
It's just not worth the frustration.
