CTC-4

Hi Terry,
As you know the CTC-4 followed the 21CT55 CTC-2. I believe it does have narrow band demod. This is where RCA started to cut corners (production costs) to gear up for mass production of color sets. A somewhat simplified chassis with printed circuit boards. Fewer tubes and componets. They did provide a pretty good choice of models with the CTC-4. Two at first and then increased to five by the end of production. Alas, these sets found few owners and were still for sale, at discounted prices, in stores long after the redesigned CTC-5 Super and Deluxe chassis were introduced. The CTC-4 chassis could be a bit tempermental and unstable. This really didn't help promote public confidence in color tv and RCA quickly engineered the even more simplified CTC-5's.
